First post for the new year

Its been ages since I last posted here. Happy New Year to the few who visit!

Its been two months into the new job. I made one business trip to New York. My first trip to the Big Apple. Absolutely loved the place. I was conveniently located at Madison Square Garden. We invariably got off work around 8p. My colleague and I then took long walks across Manhattan and along the way if a restaurant interested us had dinner. We tried to make it to the Christmas tree lighting in front of the NBC studios at Rockefeller center one night, but ran out of luck because the police had cordoned off the roads.

Interesting sidelight was being stuck in an elevator for about 20 minutes one night. Fortunately cellphones saved our day. There were four of us big guys (well three big guys and one small guy - me) stuck in a tiny elevator between the sixth and seventh floors. The NYPD bailed us out.

The next week I was off to India for a three week vacation. It was short, sweet and hectic. Always good to meet family members. And of course savor the good food. There is nothing like home cooked food. I hardly ate out during my entire stay. I made it a point to go back and eat with the folks we were staying with.

Its good to be back. A new year beckons.
